Reflections in the Chandelier

Posted in Stories

As the new princess and her prince charming dance within the warm glow of the candle lit chandelier, in the flickering shadows and reflections cast upon the walls we see glimpses of pigs and of  bears; of fools and their gifts; of men who may, or may not, be naked; and of the neglected child of a dead mother.  Images of stories we think we know yet in the reflections we see other versions, British and non-British variants as across cultures we share themes, concerns and stories.  Here the audience may choose which story will be told, instead of 3 little pigs will you here of the fox and Dartmoor pixies, or will it be the Italian 3 goslings? Will it be the English; Romanian or Algonquin Cinderella? Let the hearer decide.
